Corolla Drifter

Our newest project is turning a 1980 Toyota Corolla into a monster drift machine. The engine and tranny have already been removed and the entire car has been gutted. Our first priority was to cut out the rusted floor pan and make a new one. While we work on getting all the rust out of the car, we’re also rebuilding the new motor, a 1.6 liter 20 valve blacktop 4AGE out of a Toyota Levin. Once the rusty parts have been replaced with fresh sheet metal, we’ll start bending tubing  for the roll cage. Since this car is going to be used for drifting and autocross events, the cage requirements are pretty relaxed. Keeping this in mind, we’ve decided to save weight by using 1.5″ x .095″ DOM tubing for the entire cage.rola1
